testing, testing. 1, 2, 3

I have this thing where I keep all of my test strips, for some strange reason I just can't part with them.

pencil girl

It's moving week so there has been very little time for important things like drawing and painting and all the things I have been working on I can't show you yet.

But I did find this little lady tucked away in a drawer so I thought I would let her see the light of day today...

she's like a rainbow

It was getting very black and white over here so I thought a little colour was in order.

**Update: I just found out she has an exhibition on at the moment at Helen Gory Gallery in Prahran until the 17th of July so get amongst it.

Some sketch book doodles inspired by tina...

ya ya

These are just some thumbnails for a little babushka
doll I have to paint for an exhibition. Perhaps she might have a little fox wrapped around her legs...

gals with specs

Guys don't make passes...

and now for some colour...

These are by Andrew Bannecker.

I really want to draw a gal with some specs. Perhaps tomorrow...

today I'll be tina

Tina Berning is a German artist & is definately in my top 5 favorites. Her work reminds me that sometimes what you leave out is just as important as what you include. I wish, I wish...

sneaky peek

This is a little preview of an illustration I did for a lovely musician named Jacqueline Dwyer.

So I'm loving the hipstamatic app for my iphone, if only i were a better photographer...

Alvie part two

It's a rough one today because I'm on walkabout but he has a story to make up for it:

"my name's Alvie & my pop was the greatest and most fearless jet fighter in all of the lands. When I get bigger, I am going to be known as 'the great, fearless Alvie, king of all the sky!' wow."

Little clown faced girl

Alexander Beetle

"I found a little beetle; so that Beetle was his name,
And I called him Alexander and he answered just the same.
I put him in a match-box, and I kept him all the day ...
And Nanny let my beetle out -
Yes, Nanny let my beetle out -
She went and let my beetle out -
And Beetle ran away."

-A.A. Milne

(Thanks 'what to do with my life'!)

pretty in pastel.

Here is a close up shot of my pastel assignment, pretty much the only assignment I was satisfied with all semester...
