mori girls

today I'd like to be a mori girl. I've felt this way for about a week or so now & I don't see it ending in the foreseeable future.

To learn more about mori girls look at the very pretty mori girl blog.

Someday you shall be mine...

braid

Just a little pencil study of a girl with braids (minus the girl...) that I drew the other day.

magical mushroom

I always thought mushrooms like this only existed in books about fairies and children lost in forest. Until today! We found this lonely little fungi in Caulfield park all by itself. I really wanted to rip it out of the ground to keep and draw at my leisure, but something told me that might be bad luck. So I left it behind for a big goose to eat and took a little white feather instead. It's just not as special though is it?

UPPERCASE

can't wait to go get a copy of uppercase magazine. I only discovered it existed last week and then I saw it in mag nation the other day! I had a quick flick through and the inside looks just as good as the out, I've been a fan of matte stephens' work for quite some time now, it makes me want to go catch a tram with a bear. I still need to have the prints I were given for christmas framed, eek!

collage dreams

I am researching collage illustrations for a new assignment and came across the dreamy work of Eleanor Wood. I especially like the one with the polar bear, I've been learning some very interesting things about polar bears & not all of them are nice... cheeky, vicious polar bears!

BELAFONTE

I am having a sale on etsy of my BELAFONTE art prints for the next three days. It's buy one, get one free which I think is a pretty sweet deal so if this sounds like something you might be interested in visit my shop and write down which print you would like for free in a note to the seller at the checkout.

here a pom, there a pom

I have a quiet pom pom obsession at the moment. I am wondering how big you can go before you look ridiculous. But maybe that's the point? Personally, i think the bigger the better...

These poms are from www.etsy.com/shop/Yokoo

ladies first

next month I will be in my very first group exhibition at the Brunswick Street Gallery in Fitzroy and what fine company I'll be keeping!

Here is a small little preview of something I'm working on for the show, it's very dark and moody iphone photo...

neeeighh!

I would like a pony coat just like this girl.

I saw her stopped at the lights outside Flinders Street Station last week and took a sneaky snapshot because I was just so jealous of her jacket.

Perhaps one day I'll have a pony coat too...
